Life Force Trio feat. Myka 9 - Starship (AmmonContact Remix)
This is laidback space rap that makes Dr. Octagon sound juvenile. This is a really well produced trip through space. In a galaxy far far away...

Sparks - This Town Ain't Big Enough
(TV Live on TOTP 1975)
Whoa! 1975 really? This stuff is crazy, I would believe it was recorded yestersday. Well, the audio anyways. Fascinatingly bizarre!
Out Hud - Its For You
"Its For You" directed and animated by The Wilderness.
This is a sort of eerie song with candy pop vocals. It's pretty wild, but I think I like it.

The Brand New Heavies - Dream Come True (original vers 1990)
For a time The Heavies were a six piece including Lascelles Gordon, and Jim Wellman. The band's first video ever. Filmed late 1990.
This is another classic acid jazz cut from The Brand New Heavies. Funky!

808 State - Cubik
This is a classic rave track from when it was all still entirely new. The song is pretty good with the exception of the guitar. The guitar works better for these guys when they act like they're playing and you can't hear it than when they are actually playing and you can. I would of played guitar for free on this song. Of course that would have only benefited me, considering I don't know how to play it either.

The Brand New Heavies - Never Stop
I wanna take a trip down memory lane on this one by The Brand New Heavies. These guys were making trip hop before they even figured out what to call it. This beat is still nice although I must admit it falls dangerously close to the smooth jazz category. Truthfully check me at 50, I'll probably be jamming this at a stoplight out of my mid-life crisis convertable, loaded down on some good cologne.

A Guy Called Gerald - Fever
This is a classic smooth jungle track from A Guy Called Gerald. There was a time period when no one made this music better than this guy. The visuals on this are dated but the track is as crisp as ever!

DJ /Rupture vs. Bigfoot
a track from DJ Rupture's Uproot
Do you want to find out if what they say about Bigfoot is true? This poor guy did by way of a prison hug (you know, the hug from behind) from the real fuzzy wuzzy himself. Not Good! This is some old video footage from something as far as I know is long forgotten. It's an entertaining sequence matched to some tricked out dub from DJ /Rupture.

Kudu - Playing House
Band] Kudu, [Song] Playing House, [Album] Death of a Party, [Director/D.P] Lenny Tso, [Producer] David Landa, [Production Company] Sky Collective Inc, [Label] Nublu, 2005.
I hope you don't mind stepping over that giant cockroach. I don't mean to sound superficial, but what a turn off. Right? Don't let that turn you away from the electro hotness of this track.

Subtle - The Mercury Craze
'The Mercury Craze' is the single from the critically acclaimed album 'For Hero : For Fool' by Subtle. Available worldwide now on Lex Records / EMI.
This is a really catchy track that I'm having difficulty categorizing, which is most often a good thing for me. It's rap, but it's a combination of singing as well. The production is nice and upbeat. The video is outstanding. I couldn't take my eyes off it. Ultimately, I think in the right situation, it could be impossible to not shake yer tailfeather when played loud.

Rondo Brothers - Crazed
Video for the Rondo Brothers song "Crazed" from the album "Seven Minutes To Midnight". Directed by L. Kenyon.
The Rondo Brothers really put together a nice track here. The animation for the video is captivating. The song sounds kind of like something Thievery Corporation would produce, but with more rock female vocals and guitars. It's an enjoyable combination that should be enjoyed by all.

Matthew Dear - Don and Sherri
From the album Asa Breed on the Ghostly International label, this video premiered on MTV2's subterranean, 10.22. Directors Judy Welfare and Jeremy Hollister.
Matthew Dear pumped some good life into the world of minimal house. He added some vocals and accessibility to the mix, and you have surefire success. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but the quality is unquestionable.

Daara-j - Boomrang
Rarely is the influence of American hip hop as eveident in raggae dancehall as it is here. Daara J makes a dancehall jam that doesn't alienate American audiences. The truth is that I have very little experience to help me relate to Jamaican dancehall. It doesn't mean I don't like it or appreciate it. Daara J just has a way of putting together a good song that can appeal to all. Well done!

DJ Krush - Kemuri
When this style of music was new for me, nobody was doing it better than DJ Krush. He was a flagship artist for Mo' Wax when DJ Shadow was still cutting his teeth among other items made of vinyl. Krush has not had the same success in recent years, that he had back in the day, but this track still manages to give me chills. It still makes me want to get blunted as well. This one is timeless.

Modeselektor - Black Block
From Modeselektor's latest album "Happy Birthday!" on BPitch Control. Video directed by Christian Feldhusen.
The first 3:46 of this video is awesome. You can go ahead and skip the two minutes of credits and noise. Why? I've really come to enjoy Modeselektor, they've really started pumping out some mature ass shaking music.

Maga Bo - "Fire feat. Xuman" from the full length album, Archipelagoes on Soot Records.
Maga Bo brings some real fire to this millionth song about fire in raggae and dancehall history. I must admit it sounds so good I wouldn't change a thing. Big up!

Baby Kites & Nokea - Reef (DJ /Rupture's Uproot mix)
Out on The Agriculture Records. Directed by PanOptic.
This sounds and looks great. The song combines the natural sound of a melodic flute with bubbly, yet dark synths. The video follows the path of a shadowy figure, surrounded by a moving wall, walking through an urban setting. The facade of buildings are revealed in frames of architectural framework. I think this is a nature versus structure theme. We often feel that are actions and paths are independent of influence and social engineering, when in truth we were meant to take that path all along, or at least felt inclined to without truly understanding why. The freedom of the flute must learn not just to coexist with the heavy machinery, but to create a new symphony with it. It is just as we must learn to create a new symphony with our lives regardless of our station in life and society.

Boot Camp Click - Here We Come
SONG: Here We Come ARTIST: BootCamp Click LP: The Last Stand LABEL: Duck Down DIRECTORS: Cynical & General Steele
I must admit that I have underappreciated the Boot Camp Click over the course of their career. Back in the day they were too grimy for me, now I'm starving for grimy. Hip hop has become some ridiculous magic show of rented bling. You certainly won't find any in this video, instead you may find a dizzying level of realness!

Wiley - Wearing My Rolex (What Would We do)
I had a feeling it was only a matter of time before Wiley put it all together. When I've heard him in the past, I could hear the potential but was never really blown away. barbara morgenstern: der augenblick
Video by kolja kunt berlin 2000 music by barbara morgenstern taken from the album "fjorden".
This is an older video by Barbara Morgenstern who makes the German language seem quite beautiful on this song. My German is not what it used to be, so I do feel a little strange posting a song without any real idea of what the subject matter may be. She may not be Nina Hagen, but she's certainly got talent. She may need to sing in English more to attract a larger audience. Funny, David Hasselhoff had to sing in German more to attract a larger audience. That's not even his first language. There should probably be a rule to exclude mention of him when reviewing other Germans' music. Sorry!

Peter Grummich - Motorized (Nuclear explosion)
This song is a pure audio assault to match the visual assault of atomic bomb explosions and destruction. My grandfather was part of the nuclear tests in the pacific ocean and my uncle halped design them. It's no wonder my parents named me aToM.

Jan Jelinek - Do Dekor
Jan Jelinek - Do Dekor musicvideo by Sebastian Kutscher, 2001.
Light fickers through darkness, resembling white birds flying through a tunnel. These birds reveal themselves to be the cheekbones of faces with concerned looks in their eyes. Their eyes peek through and disappear to unveil some pattern or texture of someone's clothing. Even some things mundane can become fascinating when they flicker in and out of focus like stars. The drum loops and keys flicker throughout an ominous tone underlying this track.
aToM
The Orb - Blue Room
I love The Orb. These guys make natural space electronic music and happen to do it better than anyone else. This song hasn't skipped a beat and it's nowhere close to being new. The video hasn't aged as well, it looks like a remnant of when MTV first started doing AMP or possibly even predating that. No way, there was electronic music before MTV allowed it access to its' airwaves. That's blasphemy.
aToM
Apparat - Arcadia
This is a good song by a band that sounds similar to Radiohead. This singer doesn't have the same chops, but manages to sound pretty damn good. This video is an unsettling animation focusing on our struggle for survival. It's unfortunate there was not enough visuals to keep changing throughout. It still maintained my interest until the end.

T. Raumschmiere - Monstertruckdriver
This is one chunky bastard of a song. The bass just bubbles at a locomotive frequency. Be careful kids, this one will definitely drive parents mad.

Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto - Moon
Ryuichi Sakamota has been leading electronic music experiments for a long time. He's also pulled gigs such as composing "The Last Emperor" Soundtrack. There is something timeless about these keys being played. I found the arrangement to be quite beautiful indeed.

Michael Nyman - The Sacrifice
It's time to get sophisticated up in dis piece. Michael Nyman is apparently a hell of a music writer. He rocked the soundtrack for the movie "The Piano" which I must confess I have not seen. I have a tendency to pick my movies by hairstyle, and judging by this Princess Leah wannabe, I'm not likely to pick this movie up for anything around five bucks. That doesn't mean it's not good. The song is epic and I suppose there is a possibility that it's played during the mud-wrestling scene shown just briefly here. Every time I see someone drown, I get short of breath and imagine it myself. That's not the way to go. You can throw whatever you would like overboard, I'm not likely to go drowning after it.

Dirty Sound System - Angie (Lb Remix)
Car Wash video with the track "Angie" remixed by Lb (a.k.a. Atom Heart a.k.a. Uwe Schmidt) .
I've always loved carwashes. They're like safe psychedelics for kids. I don't know if this is the official video for this song, but I found it quite entertaining despite its' simple nature. This is the first time I've heard Dirty Sound System. It was Uwe Schmidt's involvement in this project that brought this one into my life. Probably best known as Senor Coconut, Schmidt waxes some serious production skill on this one. It sounds like if Ween and Air were covering a 70's love song together. Anyone interested in some Computer Love?

Alec Empire - Addicted To You
This song is actually tame for Alec Empire, the king of punk techno. Let's face it, most people don't want anything to do with either one of those genres, much less a combination of them. It works out pretty well on this one. Throw a black Elvis in your video and it'll make me happy!

Sonic Youth - Mote
Wow, this is a Sonic Youth song I actually like. I give them a lot of credit for doing what they did back in the day, but I still don't want to listen to most of it. Here, they end one of their most accessible efforts with minutes on end of screeching feedback and reverb. It's as if they wanted to make sure that this never got played on the radio. In a nutshell that kind of sums up Sonic Youth. If you weren't there, it probably doesn't mean as much to you.
