MSTRKRFT - Work On U
www.mstrkrft.com
This is a sweet video for a great song. This is a side project for the band Death From Above 1979. This will be enjoyed by fans of the transformers, voltron, and other space odysseys.

Lootpack - Whenimondamic
Madlib Quasimoto Wildchild DJ Romes, from Lootpack "Soundpieces: Da Antidote"
http://www.stonesthrow.com/101
When your alter ego is adressing yourself by name, is that, like 4th person narrative? The schizophrenic mastery of Madlib and Quasimoto are well balanced with the b-boy stylings of Wildchild. Play loud!

LCD Soundsystem - North American Scum
DFA record label owner shows he knows how to get it done. This guy supposedly runs New York and the moon now. This is the first single from their new album and probably my favorite.

Madvillain - All Caps
Madvillain is a Madlib and MF Doom collaboration that will always be a classic. Doom brings the mysterious persona that tends to keep everyone interested. This homage to comics is perfectly fitting to the flavor of sampled 70's cartoon soundtracks.

Diplo feat. Pantera Os Danadinhos - Percao
This is a great one from Diplo. I believe these were all seens shot in Brazil. This style is referred to as Baille Funk. Diplo is just beginning the takeover. Don't Sleep!

The Bug Feat. Warrior Queen - Poison Dart
Blow your speakers out to this one. When you make a real good lick, don't overcomplicate or dilute it. Just keep on rocking it over and over. This probably could have been shorter, but I certainly didn't want it to be. This is like an eerie soundtrack to the revolution.

Aesop Rock feat. John Darnielle - Coffee
I love coffee. This song made me want to crunk on a ventilattemochachino and nibble on a tasty handwich. I've been following Aesop Rock for years. This is an outstanding sample from his newest and probably most focused effort. Make sure you stick around till the end.

Blu Rum 13 & Koobs "Tether" EP

This week featured on the NAJAHEAD podcast are tracks from the BLU RUM 13 & KOOBS "Tether" Ep that actually came out last year. Underground hip out and it's finest. Listen first. Then listen again to the beats. Can you say beatboxed? Yes beatboxed by Koobs out of the UK. This is not your everyday hip hop, Blu Rum 13 has been around the block with "Bullfrog" and "One Self" and is now pursuing his own ventures. If this EP is the beginning of Blu's new direction...then I will be definately paying attention.
Support this self released CD by buying one...yes buying one...from Blu Rum himself on his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/blurum13
cheers

Cool Kids - Black Mags
This group from Chicago brings it on this one. I always wanted a Dyno bike. Way cooler than a car anyday, except the day you've gotta go someplace very far a way. Then you wish you had at least a mountain bike, or better yet..
Atom
Kidz In The Hall - Drivin' Down The Block
I Love it when underground hip hop can make a mainstream style sound even better. A Fun slowed down sample with a video that shows that these dudes are obviously crazy.
Atom
Daft Punk - Around The World
This video is so cool. I found myself wondering why the head extensions. What was even stranger is concluding that they really served little purpose beyond making the video even more weird and surreal than it would have been already. What a blast this one is!
Atom
Basement Jaxx - Romeo
This is a great video celebrating the spirit of Bollywood. I once attended an Indian wedding and became enamoured with the Indian style of dancing. Everyone danced to traditional music and hip hop as if it were one in the same. Beautiful culture indeed!
Atom
Ting Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go
This is probably my newest favorite video. It's pretty wierd, and awesome. That's right, I'm rating this in the awesome category. When in doubt throw in some kungfu! Hiya!!
Atom
Radiohead - Karma Police
I love this video. This is Radiohead at their finest. Something would have to go horribly wrong for me to ever dislike Radiohead. Some of their stuff has me lost, but so much of it is purely amazing!
Atom
Flobots - Handlebars
Why am I always so leary of groups that seem to come out of nowhere with something that sounds really good? The flobots put together something special with this one. The video is an excellent accompaniment to an already impressive effort. The haters are uniting right now, probably because of overplay, but it's not their fault. This rocks!
Atom
Benny Benassi - Satisfaction
When power tools are being used, chances are someone is getting dirty, so so dirty. This is a seriously genious video that makes me smile for obvious reasons, why not. The song was a hit for obvious reasons. You may not want to watch this if your mom's in the room, k. Enjoy!

Warren Ellis Podcast
The comic book writer Wareen Ellis does a podcast on his website and is looking for new music to play. Post below from his myspace page http://www.myspace.com/warrenellis:
"I do an irregular podcast called The 4am. It’s composed entirely of music sent to me by bands and musicians. If I like it, I play it, basically. You can find the first 13 episodes in the sidebar player of my website, www.warrenellis.com -- they've been played some 55000 times.
Haven't done one since March. Now I have a decent set of speakers for this laptop, it's easier to resume. So I'm starting from scratch, for a second season of The 4am.
It won't happen, of course, without new music. If you think you’d like to be on the podcast, please email me your music (mp3, 128k or better) at warrenellis @ gmail. com. That email address is only used for the podcast. Including a link to your site is always useful -- saves me having to hunt around for it myself.
Tell your friends if you like. But I can only play mp3s sent by the artists themselves. if you send me mp3s from bands you really like, I just have to delete them. Okay? Thanks."
