Cubic Zirconia- Black & Blue

I love when someone comes along and flips something on it's head entirely. The progressions on this one leave the listener guessing what's next. It's hard to categorize this. It's electro tribal rap that makes you want to move, either to the dancefloor or just away.

Tabi Bonney - Duhh

Gotta love that old skool deal. This is laid back in all the right places. Roll out to this in the summer, sippin' kool aid.

Amelia Curran - Scattered and Small

Amelia has a great voice. The lyrics keep you with her every step of the way. No matter what style of music it may be, great songwriting should never be taken for granted. Amelia appears to be the real deal.

Wiretree - Days Gone By

From the Album "Luck"
Directed by Vishwanand Shetti
Starring Camila Villarreal and "Mouse" the Dog

This song reminds me of some early Flaming Lips, which is my favorite of them all by the way. The video has a 1950's feel to it that seems to be the collective favorite when Americans reminisce, about the days gone by.

Duchess Says - Black Flag

This is all around crazy now isn't it. The vocals sound like Joan Jett's daughter just formed a new band, and the video is just straight up insane. The song's really hard to categorize which is always a big plus for me. I know it would sound good at the family reunion jumping around in my underwear and possible kicking my feet like a baby in the upside turtle position, but that's all I know.

Elle Bandita - The Game

Wow. If the new pop is a perversion of pop itself, it's still going to take a long time for others to catch up to this one. This girl is certainly not out to flatter herself with the camera angles. It makes for a funny video for a funny song. Look out Timbaland someone's coming for that number one spot.

Crash Gallery - These Words Are Knives

These guys are definitely walking the line here. The vocals are almost too clean cut for this kind of music. It's like combining 80's rock vocals with 90's pop punk. Fortunately for them it really works for this one. We'll see what they drum up next.

Bastard Child Death Cult (BCxDC) - Radio Silence

So I don't know what I expected these guys to sound like when I looked them up, but it definitely should have been this. This may be the most appropriately named group I've come across in awhile.

Nat Jenkins - Message

This is a pretty sweet jam. It runs the risk of being over done at times. Just when I was thinking this guy doesn't want to be Dylan, he throw in an impression. I'll let that one slip for the fact that the song is actually very good.

Born Ruffians - Hummingbird

This is a great song. It's truly genius. It's pop punk the way it should be done. It reminds me a little of Vampire Weekend which isn't a bad thing in my book.

Frightened Rabbit - Swim Until You Cant See Land

We Were Promised Jetpacks - Quiet Little Voices

I think this should have been called quiet little video. That's my only complaint on this one. It's a nice driving rock track that brings to mind Interpol or She Wants Revenge.

Codeine Velvet Club - Hollywood

Howe Gelb And The Band Of Gypsies - Uneven Light Of A Day

The lyrics to this song overcome the singing, which I understand might bot be everyone's cup of tea. The entire ensemble works exceedingly well. This is a really fun song.
